Bugaboo is recalling many of its Cameleon+ and Donkey model strollers. The company issued the recall after finding out the the carry handle poses a falling and choking hazard to children.
What are the defects?
The white button of the carry handle may pop out when the carry cot or seat is resting on the ground or is placed on an unstable surface.
What are the hazards?
If the white button pops out, the carry handle may detach. If this occurs while the carry cot or seat is occupied, there may be a fall and/or choking hazard to the child.
Which strollers are affected?
The serial numbers of the affected strollers are:
- S/N 04011090900001 to S/N 04031101009999
- S/N 08011090900001 to S/N 08021100800386
- S/N 140100093600531 to S/N 140103123350418
- S/N 170101105300001 to S/N 170104130900500
What should consumers do?
Although an external investigation of these reports confirms that the safety risk is low, and no injuries have been reported, Bugaboo advises that consumers should cease using the product and contact them at www.bugaboo.com/carryhandle to fill out a request form for a new carry handle, which will be sent by mail.
